WHAT IS ROSE WATER AND WHAT ARE ITS PROPERTIES?

The hydro-distillation of Rosa Damascena petals results in two well-known products of different solubility:

- ROSA DAMASCENA FLOWER OIL

* Rose essential oil: not soluble in water.

* Per fumante properties. Of great value in the perfume industry.

- ROSA DAMASCENA FLOWER WATER

* Rose floral water, or rose water, water soluble.

*Antioxidant and astringent properties that give it a great cosmetic value for irritated skin.

HOW TO DIFFERENTIATE A SYNTHETIC ROSE WATER FROM A NATURAL ONE?

In the market we can find two types of products under the name "rose water" as far as their origin is concerned:

- Organic and natural origin: in the list of ingredients on the label of the packaging, the name of the flower from which it comes should appear, in our case: Rosa Damascena, or Bulgarian Rose.

- Synthetic origin: it is a fragrance of synthetic origin dissolved in water with the help of chemical surfactants. The benefits attributed to natural rose water are not to be expected. The word 'Fragrance' and the surfactants used shall appear on the label.
